Walter  Marcus (pictured above) is an attorney who has practiced Family Law for 34 years. He is an Advanced Practitioner Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, founder and former President of the Connecticut Council for Divorce Mediation, former Chair of the Connecticut Bar Association Divorce Mediation Committee, a member of the Association of Family Courts and Community Professionals, a member of the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, a member of the Alterative Dispute Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and serves as a  Special Master for the Connecticut Superior Court .   He chaired the Standard of Practice Committee for the Connecticut Council for Divorce Mediation, which drafted Connecticut’s first ethical standards and best practices for Connecticut mediators.

Mary G. Marcus, Ph.D. (pictured above) is a Clinical Psychologist who has had a private practice of individual, couples and family therapy for 25 years. Dr. Marcus is an Advanced Practitioner Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, former President and member of the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Council for Divorce Mediation, a member of the American Psychological Association and the Connecticut Psychological Association, and serves as a Special Master for the Connecticut Superior Court.

Walter Marcus and Mary G. Marcus, Ph.D. received awards from the Connecticut Council for Divorce Mediation. Mr. Marcus was given an award for his outstanding contribution to the Connecticut Council for Divorce Mediation and Dr. Marcus was given an award for her work in having the Connecticut General Assembly adopt legislation mandating confidentially in mediation.  They were the authors of the Winter, 1999 article in Mediation Quarterly, "To Mediate or Not to Mediate: Financial Outcomes in Mediated Versus Adversarial Divorces," which was the first research study to statistically compare the financial results in the two most popular divorce formats in Connecticut.

Deborah Noonan is an attorney and mediator.  She is  a 1988 graduate of Boston University School of Law (cum laude) and practices family law including mediation and collaborative divorce.  She is a Practitioner member of the Association for Conflict Resolution, a member of the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Council for Divorce Mediation and Family Dispute Resolution, a member of the Family Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, and a member of Regional Bar Association. She shares the Center’s goal of making divorce as painless as possible for families.
